El nuevo disco de Travis, Where You Stand, ha conseguido superar con creces el éxito obtenido por su predecesor Ode To J. Smith.

Además de debutar en el #3 en Reino Unido y #1 en Escocia, también debutó en la misma posición en Suiza. En Alemania ha sido #6 mientras que en Austria ha logrado ser #18.

Divas y roqueros se batirán por las ventas este otoño

Divas y roqueros protagonizarán los lanzamientos prenavideños de 2013, con Lady Gaga y U2 como punta de lanza de esos dos frentes, poblados por otros insignes representantes como Arcade Fire, Pearl Jam, Britney Spears, Cher, Franz Ferdinand, Beyoncé, Katy Perry y Kings of Leon.

La gran incógnita la pondrá la banda de Bono, que ya ha grabado en Nueva York un disco que podría titularse "Songs Of Ascent", y que se publicará entre noviembre y diciembre, según diversas filtraciones.

Entre los más tempraneros, están varios grupos británicos que llevan largo tiempo sin editar un álbum de estudio. Es el caso de Travis, que publicó esta semana "Where you stand"; el de Franz Ferdinand, que lanzarán el martes "Right thoughts, right words, right action".

En esa lista de lanzamientos desde Reino Unido también figuran los de Glasvegas ("Later... When the TV turns to stactic", 3 de septiembre), el de Arctic Monkeys, con muchas expectativas en torno a "AM" (9 de septiembre), así como los de Placebo ("Loud like love") y Manic Street Preachers ("Rewind the film"), ambos el 16 de septiembre.

En español, se esperan con expectación los nuevos discos de Duncan Dhu, que publican el martes sus primeras canciones inéditas en doce años, el de Andrés Calamaro con "Bohemio" (17 de septiembre), el de Iván Ferreiro (24 de septiembre), Extremoduro (en diciembre) y el octavo disco de Bunbury, "Palosanto", probablemente en octubre.
